Do Animals Have a Special Ability to Sense Earthquakes?

The belief that animals can sense earthquakes before they happen is centuries old but there is little proof as to the methods animals use to sense upcoming tremors. Some believe that animals are able to detect the early tremblings and vibrations of a quake. But many scientists believe the behavioral changes noted in animals before a quake is merely anecdotal accounts of behaviors that can happen at any time, earthquake or not.
