Mad Cow Disease Prompts Widening of Beef Recall

On December 23, the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that Verns Moses Lake Meats of Washington State voluntarily recalled over 10,000 pounds of raw beef that may have been exposed to the infectious agent that causes bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), also know as mad cow disease.
