White Storks Welcome Sight in European Cities

The nests of white storks (Ciconia ciconia) adorn the tops of buildings throuhgout many central and eastern European cities. The white storks are welcome residents and are beloved by many of the residents who enjoy seeing them return to the nests year after year. In fact, some nests have been in the same spot for centuries and still provide a home for breeding storks when the arrive from Africa each April.
