Violence Plagues African Wildlife Parks

Violent poachers plague the Democratic Republic of Congo's five World Heritage site national parks, where they kill wildlife, attack villagers that live within the park boundaries, and target park rangers trying to protect the park and its inhabitants. In the past decade, over 100 park rangers have been killed. Among the species targeted by the poachers are endangered elephants and mountain gorillas.
