Report Highlights Effects of Climate Change on Birds
A WWF report released today details the devastating effects climate change will have on the world's bird populations. A shift in the annual timing of breeding and migration has already been documented in some bird species and researchers predict that changes in habitat use and population range are soon to follow if climate changes continue.
The report points out that birds undertaking long distance migrations are at particular risk since they are reliant on the integrity of the many habitats along their migratory path.
