Nature photographer Carol Freeman specializes in photographing threatened and endangered species. Carol's current project is to photograph all of the threatened and endangered species in Illinois (there are nearly 500 threatened and endangered species in the state). Her work highlights the often overlooked fact that there are endangered species right in our own backyards.

The images in this portfolio include threatened and endangered species from Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
