Grizzly Bears No Longer to Receive Protection as Endangered Species

Grizzly bears have been protected under the Endangered Species Act for three decades. But now, Interior Secretary Gale Norton believes that grizzly bear population in the region of Yellowstone National Park has now recovered sufficiently to warrent their removal from the Endangered Species List. This means limited hunting and trapping of grizzly bears may soon resume for the first time in thirty years.
