Winter's End Heralded by Singing Birds
Thursday February 17, 2005
If you listen carefully, sometime in mid-February you'll start to here the sounds of spring (if you're in the Northern Hemisphere, of course). Depending on your location, birds will start to sing sometime during the next few weeks. The timing of their singing is regulated by hormones that are triggered by the increasing number of daylight hours.
