The WWF reports that this year there have been widespread violations of the quotas that limit the fishing of blue-fin tuna in the Mediterranean. This year, catches far exceeded established limits and the WWF is now calling for the shortening of the tuna fishing season by two weeks in an effort to protect the dwindling fish stocks in the region.
