Britain's Isle of Sheppy Watchful for Signs of Bird Flu

The BBC reports that the Isle of Sheppy, a small island located in the Thames Estuary just off the coast of north Kent, is on the frontline in the battle against bird flu. At the Elmley Marshes, a nature reserve on the Isle of Sheppey that sits on the Swale (the narrow channel that separates the Sheppy from the mainland), reserve wardens and bird watchers alike keep a vigilant watch for any signs of sick birds.
