New Species Discovered in Indonesian Coral Reef
A series of recent expeditions led by Conservation International has revealed a wealth of previously undescribed species in the Bird's Head Seascape, off the coast of northwestern Papau, an Indonesian province. Among the dozens of new species discovered are 20 corals, 24 fish and eight mantis shrimp. Perhaps the most intriguing find is a small epaulette shark uses its fins to 'walk' along the seafloor.
