Conservation Underground

Thursday November 9, 2006

Conservation is as important below ground as it is above ground. Underground ecosystems such as caves and groundwater systems are habitat for a wide variety of rare and endagnered animals.

The Nature Conservancy has a resource page that focuses on subterranean conservation. There you can find profiles of animals that live underground, reasons conservation of cave and groundwater systems is important, and videos and slideshows of cave wildlife.
