Definition: The International Wader Study Group is a conservation organization whose purpose is to maintain contact between both amateurs and professionals studying waders, to organize co-operative studies, and to provide a vehicle for exchange of information on waders and their biology. The organization publishes the Wader Study Group Bulletin each year, which covers topics relating to wader biology and conservation. In September 2003, the International Wader Study Group held a conference to examine the status of waders worldwide and assess recent population data.
