In this project, you'll find out how important it is to create a separate space in your home for the study of animals and wildlife. Even if it is simply a corner of one room, by setting aside a special area where you can set up the materials you use to study animals and wildlife, you give your hobby a special place in your day-to-day life.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 2 - 4 hours
Here's How:
- Decide the location of your laboratory. Select a spare room or section of the basement. Find a place where you can work undisturbed.
- Collect your basic equipment: a desk, a file cabinet, a small bookshelf, a lamp, a notebook or computer, magnifying lenses, and any tools that you might use.
- Organize your equipment. Label drawers containing supplies, sort books as needed, either by subject or alphabetically, and place them on your shelf.
- When it comes time to review field notes, sort photographs, and catelog findings, make it a habit that you do these things in your new laboratory.
