South American Animals
South America is the southernmost continent of the Americas and home to the vast Amazon rainforest, the largest and most wildlife-rich stretch of tropical rainforest in the world. Its wildlife includes alpine newts, European tree frogs, Eurasian lynxes, badgers, European otters, dourmice, chamois, European bison, hedghogs, and wild boars.
Asia is the largest continent in the world and extends from the Ural Mountains in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west. It reaches southward to include India, China, and Indonesia. The wildlife of Asia includes a staggering assortment of animals such as Komodo dragons, tuataras, gharials, reticulated pythons, tarsiers, yaks, Indian rhinoceroses, and babirusa.
Africa is the world's second largest continent and recognized to be the origin of hominids. Its habitats are varied and include vast deserts, grasslands, subtropical forests, tropical forests, and dry steppes. Africa's wildlife includes lions, addax, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, African bullfrogs, Egyptian mongooses, and Kirk's caecilians.
