Definition: A taxonomic group of marine mammals that includes dolphins and their relatives. The delphinidae, or Family Delphinidae, belong to the Order Cetacea and is the most diverse of all groups of cetaceans. The Family Delphinidae includes a wide variety of dolphins (bottlenose dolphins, humpbacked dolphins, Irrawaddy dolphin, black dolphin, and others) as well as numerous other species such as pilot whales, orcas, and melon-headed whales.
