Nature photographer Carol Freeman specializes in photographing threatened and endangered species. Carol's current project is to photograph all of the threatened and endangered species in Illinois (there are nearly 500 threatened and endangered species in the state). Her work highlights the fact that there are endangered species close to home. Her work is aimed at encouraging us to look at our own backyards in a different way and to think about how to preserve species under threat whether near or far.
The images in this portfolio include threatened and endangered species from Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
