The University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science has announced the winners of its fifth annual underwater photography contest. The competition is open to amateur photographers and this year there were 918 photo submissions from entrants in 23 countries. Awards were given for the best overall photograph as well as three prizes in each of the following photographic categories: wide-angle, macro, and fish or marine animal portrait. Additionally, there was a category highlighting the work of student photographers.
