The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is located within the arctic circle, in the northeast corner of Alaska. Within its boundaries, large-scale ecosystems still function as intact systems. There are no roads within the reserve and as a result a diverse community of arctic wildlife thrives there.

The refuge and its nearby waters are home to 45 species of mammals including whales, bears, rodents and many others. The following is a list of the mammal species (sorted by taxonomic class) that inhabit the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge:
