Woodpeckers and their relatives (Order Piciformes) include woodpeckers, toucans, barbets, honeyguides, wrynecks, and piculets. There are approximately 67 genera, 6 families, and 400 species of piciformes. Woodpeckers and their relatives are usually arboreal and nest in cavities. Piciformes feed on fruit, insects, or beeswax (though diet varies from species to species).
